Join Us on a food adventure with your school

Our ‘Know Me Eat Me’ programme will have your tamariki cheering for broccoli, requesting healthy food at home and telling you who grew your carrot. The Te Whariki linked programme has children exploring the food we eat, where it comes from, why it is good for us and most importantly – what it tastes like. Your educators will help the children read interactive stories, carry out hands on science investigations and cook and prepare their own food. They will build their confidence around making healthy choices and test their taste buds with many new flavours!

Our programme is designed to help centres achieve their Healthy Heart Awards and implement a consistent long term focus on health and nutrition that’s relevant to New Zealand tamariki and the food we eat daily.

• Continual, achievable focus on nutrition without hours of preparation

• Stories about New Zealand growers and farmers

• Culturally diverse recipes that children will love

• Science investigations exploring nature and sustainability

• Centres are able to go at their own pace and play to their strengths

• All the content can be saved for future use

• Professional development videos around nutrition for pre schoolers and implementing the programme at your centre
